Burnt Marshmallows

Original sketch by Dimvitrarius:

I actually inked this as well as coloring it this time. It was such a cyoot poor Katia, I had to do it. He named it Magical Mishap, but when talking about it to somebody, we started thinking of all the ways we could help put out those little fires on her before they do any real damage. Somehow we decided that if you use your tongue to help soothe the ouchies, she would taste like burnt marshmallows.

And because I always dream up some backstory, I imagine she had just added flame resistant charm to her clothes and was testing it out when FWOOMP! They resisted the flame all right! They retreated from her bodily to escape them in fact.

High Pressure Kat

Another that I played with by Zokva.  Original Skull Crusher:

I went a lot of different ways with this. So first, here’s a “straight” version of what Zokva drew with colors:

I noticed then that she didn’t have a tail so I added that…

Then I thought… Maybe she would look good with her painted-on undies…

I really liked that. But then I did what I wanted to do all along. I didn’t originally see the guy caught in her leglock as a guy. I saw him as…

A bowling ball! And now that there is actually a bowling ball in Prequel, it makes more sense. You think crushing a pineapple between your legs is impressive? Katia can crush a friggin bowling ball.

That is probably my “real” version because I actually like how the paint turned out, but might as well combined the naked and the bowling ball I guess, right?

“That’s not weird is it?” Katia asks, concerned. “I mean, everybody can crush bowling balls between their legs, can’t they? I’m not weird, right?”

If you want to sex this cat, you’ll be risking your own life. Up to you if you think it’s worth it or not.

Moo’s Bigmouth Quill

I don’t really remember where I got the drawing from. Sig is pretty clear, but I don’t know who “Moo” is.  Still, I liked the drawing and went back to my “roots” with crazy shiny eelskin look  Yeah, there’s no naughty bits – (though obviously I implied some down below with the shading that Moo didn’t have on the original)

I thought about putting in my own, but I kinda suck at it and besides, she looks kinda cute without em. Besides, with a mouth like that she’s already got plenty of orifice space.

I’m sure there’s a Vore connection here – why else would an artist get so good at drawing the inside of a mouth? But I can ignore it and just imagine she’s laughing at getting her feet tickled. Another fetish obviously, but hell, it’s a picture of a naked lizard. We’re already well into fetish territory.

Katia + QW Forever!

I don’t remember where I got this sketch from, but I’m sure I’ll find out after I post it. I’ve had it for a long time, but I thought it’d color it tonight. Nice and quick, no complexity – to befit it’s sketchy attitude.  Some people don’t like the Quill-Weave – she’s certainly stylized! But I like her. I think she’s cute this way. And Katia, of course.

Anyway, I’m putting the mods to the test on the Prequel Booru again. But without some controversy, what’s the point, right? And if it turns out to be too much – well, okay. So be it.

And if someone knows who drew it, drop me a line please. I did a look through the booru and e621 but didn’t see it.

My colors added:

Tailless Chochi Kitty – 100% Prurient, 120% Puffy

This one has no reason for existing but to titillate. But sometimes that’s okay too. I recognized that not only does she not have a tail, but her pussy is extremely puffy. Someone said it looks like a pussyball. But I figure there’s a fetish for everything, and in the scheme of things a pussyball fetish isn’t so bad.

Original by Chochi:

Yeah, that’s not a bad place to start! Base colors first:

Went with the exact complementary color for the bed, just to try it. I wanted to try some soft shading (and highlighting) using opacity on this one. Came up with this:

image

Then I added sharp shading to boot. Because of my debacle with light sources last time, I actually drew in the light source lines to help me with shadow placement – based on the reflections in her eyes.

image

That’s my attempt at soft shading with an opaque brush. But I also did similar with highlighting – as well as normal highlighting:

And finally some little shading on the bed and a couple more little tweaks:

That’s it. Naughty tailless Kitty by Chochi, colored by me. With Pussyball at no extra charge!

Starfighter’s Thicc Rajirra

bdprequel:

I showed it to Kaz and he was okay with me putting it on the Booru. Rather pleased at that, though if it gets taken down by mods, I’ll understand. It’s pretty much the furthest edge you can get without being totally totally NSFW.

Anyway, so I came across Starfighter’s work while looking for a Rajirra or Katia to draw, and darned if he doesn’t say right there on his FA page that he’s fine with others finishing/coloring his sketches.  So I took him up on it!

Here’s the original by Starfighter: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26743553/

I wouldn’t say I’m GOOD at linework/inking. Just that I’m getting better. I kept most of the sketch in behind my lines here as I was planning to go truly furry with it, and some sketchy lines enhance that I think.

I wanted to experiment with this one, so I tried some colored gradient shading on her boobs and a bit of belly. The result was less than optimal. Interesting, but naaa… It’s not just that I only did the boobs and belly so they pop out as 3d on a flat cat – but the color just is wrong and the gradient is TOO smooth. Someone said they look like eggs. (They do!)  But it was funny so I’ll show it here anyway.

No, instead I went for 2 level hard-shading. This is an in-progress point. I had the background basically added and most of the colors.  But I wanted it more furry than this so I wasn’t done yet.

And here’s the final. I got some suggestions – mostly on the shadow and there’s a VERY slight pink on the nipples.  Hopefully almost imperceptible.

That’s it. Starfighter’s Rajirra. She thicc. I also learned a new acronym! BFCT.

There will undoubtedly be more of similar proportions to come. Starfighter has more! Hehehehehehhhh. I’m calling this one nsfw, because it isn’t. Nothing is obviously showing, but, let’s be honest, you don’t want to use this as a screen-saver at work.

(Reblogging myself from my NSFW blog.)

Guoh Freya Staff

I put effort into this one. 12 layers visible. I won’t post ‘em all here, but enough. Hope it shows! When I spend this much time on one, I HAVE to do the layers thing.  So here’s the starting point – Guoh’s original Freya sketch. He has a few obviously – this isn’t my first. And that’s a good thing ‘cuz I REALLY like Freya. And Guoh has a thing for anatomy I just haven’t seen often by anyone for ‘furry’ characters. Plus it seems rare that an animalistic character like Freya gets a good, ‘human’ backstory. So even though it’s been years since I played FFIX, I still remember her well.  Well, maybe not like this:

First think I did was removed most of his shading since I was going to do my own anyway, but I kept a layer with it still in place so when it came time to shade I could follow his lead.

Flat colors are standard next for me. I went with a bit more yellow than white because I needed a way to put highlights in and if it’s already white… cant get lighter than white. Hair yellow this time because… I wanted to?  As for the partial-pink tail.. hold on and I’ll explain in a sec.

I’ve had people say that my soft shading makes em look kinda ‘dirty’ – and not in a good way. So I’ve been leaning more towards hard-shading. But I really wanted to try soft again, so despite some people’s suggestion, we’re going full-soft shading this time. As for her tail, I wanted it to gradient from pink to her light color – that’s why I didn’t color that part after the bow directly. That’s here too.

Okay. Time for glossiness. Sorry, once again, I couldn’t help myself. Also highlighting which is primarily her eyes. (Higher res would reveal that best)

Technically that’s it for Freya herself, but I didn’t want to go without a background. If you think about it, she’s in a really odd position here. How is that spear point working? I mentioned the issue to someone else, but I didn’t explain well and he suggested a cityscape behind her for a background. Interesting, but the problem of what she’s sitting on and how that spear tip is supposed to work was still tough. It’s obvious that the spear is at an angle, with the tip closest to the viewer, angling away. But still, it seems most likely she’s sitting on some sort of rock or something that falls away towards the viewer.

So the rest of this is trying to do a background. I found a kinda neat cityscape from FFIX.

I just used bit of that, but it led me to how the “ledge” she’s sitting on should work.  I won’t bore you with more details. Here’s the end result:

I had to create the sort of wall she’s sitting on, but using colors from the road I think it integrates with the background okay at least. Homemade but sometimes that’s the best you can do. Also, not the tail wrapping around the sign. I thought that was cute and integrates her a bit more, even if it’s not immediately noticeable. Field blur on the city so it sharpens as it nears – primarily so Frey still stands out. Some of the shadows, upon reflection, don’t make sense with the angle of the sun. Hopefully they’re not too jarring because I’m leaving it as-is. I like it even if the light source is ambiguous at best!

Like, in the background the lightsource is obviously upper right and towards the viewer. Boob sheen reflects that too. But then the shadow of the spear indicates left and towards viewer.  Hmm… How does that work?

Ah, it’s Freya cheesecake. Don’t overanalyze or it falls apart.

Guoh Bagi

Really, it was just a matter of time before I got to this one. I mean, it was probably one of the first Guoh sketches that I saved.

But… let’s talk for a minute about Bagi, okay? Sure, I’ve seen it. Heck, you can watch the whole thing on Youtube now if you want…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDYbmowyMG8

Came out in 1984, but before you try to defend it because of the date, here’s some OTHER animes that came out in 1984.

Nausicaä

Macross: Do You Remember Love?

Urusei Yatsura

Now I’m not Anime expert, but those are all pretty classic because even >I< have seen them! But Bagi… I tell you, if it wasn’t for Bagi herself, that would be the most shit anime I’ve ever watched. Not the worst in existence, just the worst I ever watched. Why did I watch it?

I’ll give you one guess. I mean, it feels like the plot – such as it is, was written on the back of a napkin, and they lost the napkin halfway through. I’m not going to turn all movie critic on you, but… dudes… it was bad. It really felt like it was written as a bad fanfic.  A VERY bad fanfic. She even licks the kid in the jungle? And dances for him? JEEZE! I think I wrote this when I was 14 and discovered my Special Purpose! And catgirls of course.

And yet… here I am 34 years after she was first created, coloring Bagi’s junk. I guess that just goes to show that even good things CAN come out of crap movies. Should you go watch Bagi? I guess. Sure. Just don’t tell anyone >I< told you to!

And there it is. Off model badly (thank God and Guoh!), and I felt her ‘real’ color was too light so I darkened it up some. And she doesn’t have a pale belly, but all catgirls should so screw it – she does now! 🙂

I do like Bagi – the character. And parts of the movie itself were pretty inspired. Too bad it was surrounded by so much other crap. And motorcycles. And Australian hats for some reason. And Astro-Boy.

And of course, thanks again to Guoh, who just cranks these things out it seems! Damn – how can this not be popular with such a beginning sketch? Not my most detailed coloring work, but I sure as hell like it! Like…. lots.

Selenophile Katia

On those hot summer mornings, isn’t it glorious to own an invisibility cloak? Just find a nice shady park bench, get totally naked, and let the cooling breeze waft over your entire body without a care in the world.

But… you know… you do need the hood on to activate the invisibility. You DO have the hood on, don’t you, Katia? Katia???

image

This time I colored a sketch from Selenophile: https://e621.net/post/show/1024416

I think I saw it on a 4chan thread. I thought it was awfully cute – particularly in how her boobies weren’t drawn gigantic and the cute face. I did an inking on this one though. I don’t usually but there was too much scratchylines on it so I had to kinda start from scratch.

image

For flat colors, I stuck with traditional. I also used my “wood” technique I learned on the Sashimi-Rajirra pic on the bench here too. Technically the “purple” shade at the bottom should be on a separate layer. I kinda screwed that up a little. But not a big deal.

I had a nice gradient sky, photoshopped ground and a photoshop-create 3d tree I was going to use as is. But I showed it to someone and they thought the background looked too realistic. So I Filtered it and I have to admit it probably blends with a cartoon character better this way.

Okay, Shade Time! Nothing terribly special there. For the most part I have her in shade, so there’s really just edges where the sun falls – and a few dappled spots around her head and shoulders. The 2nd level darker shade I kept simple and sharp as well.  I also made this censored version for the Prequel booru.

So I made up the little vignette at the top. She looks so happy and cool here. But she think’s she’s invisible and she’s not. Which she’ll soon discover. Actually that’s classic Kaz humor there. A happy character who the audience knows is about to fail and fail hard. But – for right this moment, she’s peacefully oblivious thinking her idea is the Best Idea Ever!

OH! I almost forgot! Someone said they liked her body but didn’t like her head/face. No, I get that – though I like em both just fine! So for those people, here’s an early edit I did to fix that problem.
