I have. That is, I’ve abandoned this site. After the Tumblr implosion, this seemed like the best alternative. I was wrong – because nobody visits here. I’m keeping the site up as an archive of posts. Still have my Tumblr, though don’t post to it often. For fiction, I’m now posting to Archiveofourown. For images, usually Furaffinity. But don’t expect this to be updated again. It won’t.

I typically try to remove any nipples from stuff I’m doing so I can post it on Tumblr directly. However, after trying to do so on this picture, I gave it up as a lost cause so I’m posting this on my nsfw wordpress blog instead.

This is one of those cases where someone suggested I try coloring an image where I didn’t know the original artist.

Though I certainly like ‘scalies’ like this, I really don’t consider myself that much of a lizard-lover. I just find my style lends itself better than furries as I don’t color fur terribly well. Plus I’m really not that into mega-boobies like this. But still, it was a nice, clean drawing so I gave it a go. I did find the origin though – the drawing was by Bigdad and was a character named NightShade created by DragonofDarkness1992:

However, I felt that NightShade’s canon colors were going to be too dark. Plus, it turned out (which I didn’t find out till after I’d done my thing) that someone (D-Day) had already colored her:

Now normally I don’t color something someone already colored, but again I didn’t know it at the time. So instead of her canon colors, I chose a much lighter blue shade and nearly white for her belly:

Had a good time with the firetail, and decided to make her eyes match with internal fire. Obviously I removed the backgroudn too. I wanted the background to be dark, but not too dark to obscure her lines. So I went with a dark grey and added some firelight reflection underneath her…

A little shading and highlighting and I was almost done. However, I have to confess that I thought of something naughty. If her internals were fire, there might be some more glowing bits other than the tip of her tail and her eyes that might be glowing. So…

I’ll let you figure out what else is glowing with internal heat. 🙂 But I wasn’t QUITE done yet. Still looked a little plain. So I found a nice texture that could imply scales, applied and warped it in about 7 different places o her blue part and ended up with this final version:

I sent it off to DragonofDarkness1992, and though he complemented me on the coloring, he was right to point out that without her canon colors, it’s really not NightShade. True. Maybe it’s NightShade lighter sister?

Boogeestro drew this as part of a drawpile at my request. I had another intention for it, but instead of that use, I already have a short story for her specifically. I call her Eyvie because I think she looks like an Eyvie. Figured out basically how to do Displacement Maps in photoshop to achieve the scale texture effect. I’ll use that again for sure. But I kept it relatively subtle as I wasn’t 100% it was better with or without. I like it better with, but keeping it subtle is probably a good plan anyway.

Short story probably tomorrow. It’s written in my head, just gotta actually type it!

If you’ve been following me at all, you’ll no doubt notice I’ve been coloring things almost exclusively by Boogeestro lately. That’s because I really like his style. Well, as good as he is, he’s got one terrible flaw – he doesn’t post stuff often! I aim to help with that by promoting some of his stuff here. First, his main (sorely underused) sites are:

Well, last night he did a work that just sent me over the edge and practically forced me to write this blog – because NOT sharing this is practically criminal!

Now here’s what I know about this. First, it was made for zaezar – who has this rather cool project going on called Project Cyden that’s a sort of shared-universe concept for artists and writers. Really cool concept.
http://projectcyden.boards.net/ is where it’s primarily discussed. Anyway, from what I gather, zaezar created this OC named Thea – as he puts it, she’s a “2nd tier” character:

She wields an outrageous jet-powered hammer weapon, which Boogs also drew and colored:

When I look at these, I realize how woefully inadequate I am to color anything he does – but if he’s NOT going to color something, I’m so very happy to get the opportunity to do so myself anyway. And it sure gives me something to shoot for!

That’s about it. I just wanted to bring some attention to Boogs, who brings a whole different vibe to this genre that I’ve never seen before. You should follow him and drop by one of his streams sometimes. Best set up an alert on Picarto though, because he doesn’t really announce his streams beforehand anywhere.

Boogeestro has an OC that’s a kangaroo, and apparently also into Yoga. He kinda redesigned her on a stream I was on a few days ago and came up with this:

He asked if I wanted to color it. “Yes!” I replied. So then I needed some info. What’s her name, does she have a particular color scheme, etc. Boogs said she’d never been colored so he doesn’t really have a color scheme, nor a name for her. Well! Blank canvas practically! Woohoo!

So I started with the expected tan color, but I notice that most kangaroos are done in tan, but there are also grey kangaroos, so I took the less-common route. Oh, and no – she doesn’t have a pouch. Sorry.

For most of my inspiration on her coloration and pattern I actually used this image:

Mostly I noticed that her ligher chest curves around back behind her jaws, her dark ears with the white tufts, and also just the color in general.

But wait… I always like to give a sense of place. What is she DOING here? Obviously lying down. What’s she lying on? She owns a yoga studio… Okay… Hey! What if she’s hawking her own line of yoga mats? Yeah, like on a late night infomercial. (I’d stay up late for that!) So, I’ve done mats before, I have a pretty good idea how to do them. But what pattern? I came across this:

I thought it was pretty inspired – Yoni is a hindu term for the female reproductive organs as well as “a symbol of divine procreative energy”. Yeah, I could see her being into that. So I took that image, removed the lines and text, set it on a pink background, and then created some symbolic letters around it – Y O N I:

So now I had the mat. I transformed it for perspective, added shading etc. And finally I arrived at this:

Anyway, I’d gotten one illustration for it, and recently commissioned another. It is this:

That’s by Boogeestro – I did the coloring, shading and added the meager clothing. The original was nekked. Now in the story she’s not naked – it’s really not that kind of story, though this illustration begs to differ. She’s tied up by a band of kobolds for disrespecting their queen. In fact, they tickle her. But here you are on bdnsfw, and you expect more I’m sure. So here, have her shirtless…

But no, I know how you are. You want the bottom off too. I know how it is. Okay – since you’re here already…

I wouldn’t have even posted the nekked versions, but for this next image. It’s not that Boogs didn’t know that kobolds aren’t lizards… but he had a field day with it, and the end result is funnier than anything I could dream up. So… here it is:

I have nothing I can add to that. Yes, I colored little lizards too.

Not gonna go into much detail here. Drawn by Boogeestro as doodle commission for a friend of a friend, so I don’t know anything about the OC, and I just made up her colors. Also I added the cable.

And here’s what I did with it…

Another one of those long-winded, layer-by-layer things. Don’t worry, the finished product is first. The rest is at-your-own-leisure stuff that you may care less about. But I have to at least set it up. The current story I’m working on is the 3rd in the Spyjirra trilogy. Named “On His Mane’s Secret Service”, it will conclude the series and introduces a character (Named Quill-Weave in honor of the Prequel and Elder Scrolls characters) who is called the Histess. Sort of a high priestess of the Hist, she offers Ra’Jirra a boon in the form of Hist Sap, from her own… well… you’ll see. I subscribe to the notion that Argonian boobs are the Hist’s modification to allow Argonians to give birth far from the Black Marsh and endow intelligence to their young (who do not develop it otherwise).

So through a mutual friend, Boogeestro learned of that particular scene and wanted to draw it. I’m like, “Really?! Well… SURE!!!”. The result of his art and my coloring and backgrounds is right here. The rest of this is just going through my part on the finished product.

Yeah, can’t put that on Tumblr. In fact, it’s missing only one thing to be fully canon with my story – QW is supposed to be covered in moss. Not a failing of Boogs. I preferred her without it for an image.

Okay, so here’s how I got there. Here’s “pretty much” the image from Boogeestro that I started with. I did do a bit more line cleanup here than the original, but not much…

He did the nipplage and eyeshade, of which I kept both. The one thing I did drop was the slight red tinge to QWs boobs. But Ra’Jirra here, as well as his take on QW are both gorgeous! So, first up… Base (flat) colors!

Nothing unexpected here. That’s Ra’Jirra and Quill-Weave’s standard colors from Prequel. But for the ridges that Boogs’ design added to QW. TBH, neither character looks much like Prequel’s version, but I think they’re at least both reminencent of them. Next up, shading, etc…

I used the same shading layer for some other background things so that’s what those extra bits are there. Will make more sense when I show that bit. I worked pretty hard on Ra’Jirra’s hair here and I think it turned out okay. Highlighting…

Nearing completion of the two. Now, what background? Well, the story dictates that. They’re in QW’s private bedroom in the Argonian embassy (in Toval – capital of Elsweyr specifically). They’re also in a darkened room lit only by a single candle. Thus that backlighting on QW’s chin etc. So here’s what I came up with for a background…

Okay. I’m not real proud of the background. I just color man! I don’t draw! Well, it gets the point across anyway. The one thing I did like – the scale texture on the footboard of the bed. The Khajiits hastily created this “embassy” for the Argonians in the story, and that’s the sort of thing they might have done to make it seem more personalized for the lizards.

Just one more thing. In the story I have this sort of “official” outfit of the Mane’s Harem (which Ra’Jirra is now a member of) called a Raba. It is a blatant sexual offering of themselves for the Mane’s use (though he’s actually monogamous.) Anyway, it’s essentially a sheer dress with a special set of beads. In the story, Ra’Jirra scandalizes the Royalty when she dares to wear underwear underneath the Raba. But by this point in the story, with emissaries from the Altmer and the Argonians arriving, she forgoes the underwear and wears the Raba in it’s traditional way. Here’s my first version of the Raba:

While on the surface it’s blatantly sexual, in context it’s not nearly as much as it may seem. This “gift” will one day save the Khajiit from annihilation. But I’ve giving too much away. The full trilogy in text-form can be found here if you’re interested:

In the first chapter of my 2nd Spyjirra story “You Only Live 18 Times” I introduce an OC named Wears-Only-Ropes – an Argonian sailor aboard an Imperial motor-driven ship. Well the climax of that story I’d already had Boogeestro draw for me which I colored:

Yeah, I’ve posted that before, but I was just so blown away by the design. Now really, she’s not naked in that scene. It’s not exactly that kind of story. But she does wear her breasts tied up in ropes for support, thus her name. Anyway, when I first introduce her in chapter one, she’s up in the Crow’s Nest of the ship. So I suggested Boogs draw her in a Crow’s Nest. I should have seen it coming…

Yeah. Crow’s nest. Get it? Okay… but it is another Wears-Only-Ropes so I ran with it anyway. The lines were a bit rough so I cleared some up and added thicker ones esp. on the outlines…

Good thing is I’d already determined her base colors, so here’s the basic flat-color layer:

Then some gloss and highlights and Wears-Only-Ropes is pretty much done. (No, she’s not wearing ropes here. Or anything else for that matter! That again wasn’t exactly per the scene in the fiction, but hey, gotta give a bit of leeway when you’re getting an OC drawn for free after all!)

Just one more thing – what’s the background? Well, dammit, I WANTED her in a ship’s Crow’s Nest so…

NOW I’ve got her in one! The perspective is a bit wonky, I know, and hell if I know what a crow’s nest really looks like. The railing is obviously too low – but also I liked the feel of vertigo it gives – like it would be so easy to fall off (which she does, but that’s where reading the story helps).

So that’s it. Wears-Only-Ropes again. Alas, she’s a one-story character for plot reasons. But I do love her in my own way.

So I was watching a Boogeestro stream again last night as I’ve started doing lately. Boogs tends to draw BIG hair on his characters and some weeks ago on a stream he did one with a rather long split-end looking thing. As streams often do, things got a little silly and he turned it into a snake. (With a crown that I don’t even remember why anymore!)

Eventually the snake got named Slithers. Last night Slithers made a re-appearance while he was drawing this of his OC, Xera. (Picture edited because female-presenting nipples are a terrible and deathly horror. And because I don’t think he’s done with it yet.)

Sorry, Slithers didn’t make the final cut. But it was quite late at night for me and late at night I get very very silly. I got a wild hair (See what I did there? Wild Hair? Split-End? Very clever of me indeed!) and decided to write a poem dedicated to Slithers…

So here, without further ado, is The Ballad of Slithers, the Split-End Snake! (slightly modified) Warning – it seemed a lot funnier last night. Also somehow I think of it as lyrics set to some generic music.

Slithers! Slithers! The Split-End Snake!
A limbless reptile, a legless drake!
Though buff and strong and royally crowned,
He’s really a nice snek to carry around.

Most times he lurks in buried disguise,
And looks like split ends to unwary eyes.
In hair of the most nubile of maids he resides,
Admiring the view, that is why he abides.

But should danger appear to threaten his host,
The stray hair is then found to be misdiagnosed!
And from the fair maiden’s hair, fangs will appear,
Now poisoned, the danger she’ll no longer fear.

Then Slithers will reap her grateful reward!
He slides down her neck, her bosoms toward.
The queen of the Nile’s own asp had the thought,
but bit at her breast rather than sucking it taut.
