More Kobold incoming. This one’s got a kind of interesting history though. After finishing my Kreet story I’ve gotten into Kobolds obviously – Guoh mostly but not exclusively. I poke my head into 4chan /trash every once in a while and there’s a recent kobold thread there. (I’ve been trying to get my story added to their OP list, but no luck so far. I may HAVE to put it on Pastebin which loses all italics etc.)

Anyway, on the new thread someone posted this sketch:

Someone else asked him to ink it (basically clean up the lines). He didn’t but a different anon did, leaving this:

I really appreciate what THAT guy did to the sketch. The underwater legs looked wonky so he cut those out totally. Minimized the stalagmites. And he gave the background guy a boner. 🙂 That was cute! So I said WTH and colored it. Flats first…

I never know what colors to go with – but a drab green is always a safe bet. Also I added the underbelly lighter tone. I just think it adds something. Okay, shading next… where’s the light source? Well, it is kind of natural for someone bathing in that position to be facing the light source, so…

Nice! Okay, next up… of course I love my sheen. And ever better, she’s actually WET! A wet reptile?!?! I can go crazy with it! WOOHOO!

NOW we’re talking! Just one more thing. The water needs something… Oh, I know! A reflection!

So I copied a bit of her bottom area, flipped it vertically, lightened the opacity, ran it through a filter to get the swirly distortions. Also added a very slight shade to imply her legs underneath the surface. Probably barely noticable but still.  And that’s it. I threw it back up on 4chan and now I’m getting a bunch more sketches! Some quite good (though really, I kinda prefer boobs at least a little. Hard for me not to see the chest as masculine without em.)
